Bausch & Lomb Names Christopher
Snyder Director of Professional Relations

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Bausch & Lomb has named Christopher Snyder, O.D., M.S.
director of professional relations for the Lens Care/OTC product portfolio
within the vision care business of the Americas Region. Dr. Snyder will work in
collaboration with Bausch & Lomb’s director of professional relations –
Contact Lenses, Michael Pier, O.D.
The addition of Dr. Snyder to the Bausch & Lomb team continues the
Company’s efforts to work closely with the eye care professional community in
terms of expanding its portfolio of products and enhancing patient education
programs. Drs. Snyder and Pier will work closely together to extend outreach
programs that engage professionals in a dialogue with the Company to ensure
Bausch & Lomb is meeting their needs.
Dr. Snyder earned a doctorate in optometry, a master of science in
physiological optics, and a residency certificate in contact lens practice from
the Ohio State University. He served as an optometrist in the U.S. Navy and for
more than 24 years was a Professor of Optometry at the University of Alabama at
Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry, where he served as the Director and Chief
of the Cornea and Contact Lens Service of UAB EyeCare. Dr. Snyder also
practiced optometry as a member of the University Optometric Group, and plans
to continue his practice in the Birmingham area as well as maintain his
relationship with UAB as an Adjunct Professor.
Dr. Snyder has authored numerous scientific papers, clinical articles and book
chapters and he is co-author of the textbook Contact Lenses - Procedures and
Techniques. He has served as a Contributing Editor for Contact Lens Spectrum,
as Co-Editor of the International Contact Lens Clinic Journal (Elsevier) and is
the U.S. Regional Editor of the UK-based (British Contact Lens Association)
indexed journal Contact Lens and Anterior Eye (Elsevier).
Dr. Snyder is a Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens
Educators (IACLE), a Diplomat in the Cornea and Contact Lens Section (CCLS) of
the American Academy of Optometry and an officer of the CCLS.
