 Bausch & Lomb Names Evon L. Jones
Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Officer

ROCHESTER, N.Y., January 26, 2005 - Bausch & Lomb (NYSE:BOL) has named Evon L. Jones corporate vice president and chief information officer, responsible for all Information Technology services at the eye health company.

McCluski, Bausch & Lomb senior vice president and chief financial officer. "IT is a key enabler for our Company, providing essential links between our businesses, our customers, our employees and our processes, providing business-critical tools that will drive future growth."

Jones, 40, joins Bausch & Lomb from The Dial Corporation, Scottsdale, Ariz., where he served since 2001 as senior vice president and chief information officer. Prior to Dial, he was senior vice president and chief information officer at America West Holdings Corporation in Phoenix; vice president and technology leader at American Express Company; and held management posts in global derivative technologies at Salomon Brothers, Inc., and Lehman Brothers, Inc.

In 2004, Jones was named one of the Top 100 IT leaders by Computer World. He is a member of the AC Nielsen CIO Advisory Board, a member of the Hewlett Packard/Compaq Western Region Customer Advisory Council, and participates in the Baruch College Executives-on-Campus program.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration with a Computer Information Systems major from Bernard M. Baruch College, New York, N.Y., in 1989. He succeeds Marie L. Smith who left Bausch & Lomb.
