Lomb Names Henry C. Tung
Corporate Vice President - Global Surgical
February 7, 2005 - Bausch & Lomb (NYSE:BOL) today announced that Henry C. Tung, M.D., is named corporate vice president - Global Surgical.
Dr. Tung, 46, joins Bausch & Lomb from Boston Scientific Corporation in Natick, Mass., where he has been vice president - New Business Development since 2000. At Boston Scientific, Tung evaluated numerous healthcare technologies, led multi-functional due diligence efforts, closed multiple international transactions and developed strong relationships with key physicians, executives, entrepreneurs and healthcare industry leaders. In addition, he played a lead role in the development and execution of the corporate biopharma business strategy.

Prior to Boston Scientific, Tung was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, specializing in work with pharmaceutical and medical technology healthcare clients. Client work included growth strategies and research and development strategies. From 1991-97, he was a partner at Anesthesia Services Medical Group in San Diego, the largest single-specialty medical group in the U.S. with more than 150 physicians, where he was a member of the board of directors.
Tung holds a M.D. from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine; a M.B.A. in Finance and Healthcare Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; and a B.A. degree in Human Biology from Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
He succeeds Kamal K. Sarbadhikari, 62, who plans to retire in 2005 after nearly 20 years at the Company.
