With 2005 Bausch & Lomb Visionaries Recognition Award

Recipients Direct $80,000 in Grants To Support Vision Care Charities

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Bausch & Lomb today announces the recipients of the 2005 Bausch & Lomb Visionaries Recognition Award, a program that honors eye care professionals who embody the highest ideals in vision care and personify Bausch & Lomb's commitment to Perfecting Vision. Enhancing LifeTM .
"The 2005 Visionaries honorees are outstanding professionals who have made significant contributions to eye care," said Paul G. Howes, Bausch & Lomb senior vice president and president of the Americas Region. "We are proud to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of these deserving individuals."
The Visionaries honorees were nominated by their peers and selected by an independent Visionaries Selection Committee comprised of representatives from academia and professional organizations. Listed in alphabetical order, the 2005 Bausch & Lomb Visionaries Recognition Award recipients are:
- H. Dwight Cavanagh, M.D., Ph.D., University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas;
- Richard M. Hill, O.D., Ph.D., Ohio State University, Columbus;
- Donald R. Korb, O.D., Korb & Associates, Boston;
- George Spaeth, M.D., Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia.
In recognition of their achievements, Bausch & Lomb will equally distribute a total of $80,000 in donations to vision-related, nonprofit organizations chosen by the Visionaries honorees.
Each honoree also will receive a Steuben crystal trophy. Visionaries' photographs and biographies are included in the Bausch & Lomb Visionaries exhibit, displayed at professional meetings and trade shows through 2006.
